An event was held on the 24th anniversary of occupation of Gubadli region
As a result of the military aggression of Armenia, an event was held in the Martyrs' Alley in Sumgayit on 31 August 2017 in connection with the 24th anniversary of occupation of Gubadli region. Head of Gubadli District Executive Power Malik Isakov, National Assembly ImamverdiIsmayilov, representatives of the district public, administration, enterprises and organizations, guests from other organizations of the republic were present at the event. After laying a wreath at the monument in the Alley of Martyrs, the event participants visited the graves in the alley and put carnations on the graves of martyrs.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Malik Isakov, the head of the Gubadly District Executive Power, said that today was the 24th anniversary of the occupation of Gubadli . As we know this region has rich history and was plundered by Armenian occupiers. 238 Gubadli residents were killed, about 200 were seriously injured, more than 300 residents were disqualified, more than 100 people were wounded. 11 people were awarded the title of National Hero. At present, more than 37,000 Gubadli residents live in 42 regions of Azerbaijan with internally displaced persons. The majority of the population resides in Sumgayit and Baku. Regardless of their settlement, the problems and difficulties of the population in the region are in the focus of local executive structures. This is a manifestation of the decent performance of the successful and developed policy of the President put forward by the Great Leader and successfully implemented by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan IlhamAliyev today. The head of the District Executive Power noted that during 24 years, the longing of the land has not left our population for a moment. Our state and government have undertaken complex measures to improve the living conditions of the internally displaced persons and to ensure their employment. The people who are grateful to all this attention and care are living by their desire to return home. The population of the district has always been committed to the Azerbaijani state and is confident that the day we will return to our native Gubadli under the leadership of President IlhamAliyev. The president noted that the army's combat capability, moral and psychological state, and the spirit of patriotism are very high. Today, the process of building the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan is underway and our army is in the process of development and improvement. April war of 2016 once again proved the power of the Azerbaijani army that the army is able to protect not only the territorial integrity of our country from the enemy, but also to liberate the occupied territories from the enemy in a very short time. It was noted that the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Mr. Ilham Aliyev awarded Hamidov Shukur Nariman to the Order of the Hero of Azerbaijan to , the Hero of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Barukhudov Mais Shukur oglu, to Barxudarov Mais Şukur has given the title of General Mayor and to Qasimov Faiq Gachay was awarded the order "Flag of Azerbaijan" . The head of the District Executive Power said that after the April wars, our compatriots received high honorary titles and military ranks, which led to the excessive joy of the residents. It was added that, thanks to the successful political activity of our respected President, our lands will be liberated from occupation in the near future and our tricolor flag will fluctuate in Karabakh.
Other speakers said that for 24 years, longing for the homeland has been a model of tolerance and devotion to the state demonstrated by the Gubadli people who have lived through internally displaced persons. In spite of all the difficulties, the population of the region has been actively involved in the construction work in Azerbaijan. He then expressed regret over the lack of pressure from the international forces on Armenia's aggressive policy, saying that under the leadership of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, we were convinced that we would return to our native lands.
